The Coordinate System
Four directions and a home.
Every photograph is a position on the same two axes. Once you know the frame, you can read any picture the watch has ever taken — including the ones from three years ago.

Left and right is autonomic direction. REST on one side, ENGAGE on the other, set by where your heart rate sits against your own baseline.
Up and down is load. RECOVER above, STRAIN below, set by how much your heart rate is varying against your own baseline.
At the centre is HOME. Not a target, not a goal — just the place your body actually sits when it is being itself. The watch learns it from you, and keeps relearning it.
How far the picture drifts from HOME is how far you are from your own normal. A reading exactly at your baseline lands dead centre. Near the centre is an ordinary moment. Out toward an edge is a body doing something it does not usually do.
Heart rate below your baseline. Settled, parasympathetic.
Heart rate above your baseline. Activated, working.
Variation above your baseline. Loosening, restoring.
Variation below your baseline. Tight, holding load.
Your learned centre. Where you sit when nothing is happening.

A resting rate of 58 means one thing on one person and something else entirely on another. Every wearable on the market compares you to a population. This one compares you to you.
It goes further than the centre. The scale of the frame is yours too — how far a given change moves the picture depends on how much your own readings normally spread. The same five beats is a small step for one wearer and a long one for another. The watch measures that spread from you before it uses it.
Why the frame is permanent
The coordinates are not just drawn — they are written down. Every reading stores its position and the baseline that position was measured against, side by side, in the same row.
That means a photograph from 2029 is still readable in 2033. You will know not only where you were, but what “normal” meant to your body on the day the picture was taken. Nothing has to be guessed at later, and nothing silently shifts underneath the archive.
The position and the reference it was measured against travel together, in the export as well as on the device.

What it measures, and what it does not
What Laminar ONE measures: heart rate, HR variation, motion, entropy, and everything derivable from them.
What it does not: blood oxygen, temperature, blood pressure, and heart rhythm. The sensors for those are not in this device, so it does not report them. When a channel is absent, the record says so rather than writing a zero.
Why that matters: an empty column is honest. A fabricated one is not, and you cannot tell them apart after the fact.
